George began his career in the construction business 30 years ago after medically retiring from the military as a Navy Diver. He became a successful custom home contractor in the Pacific Northwest before returning home to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and East coast surf.
George started creating small epoxy and wood gifts that grew into larger format projects. Further utilizing his skills as a builder along with help from his wife Holly, he enjoys producing custom goods and in-home renovations. From furniture and cabinet refinishing to new custom cabinetry George has the knowledge and skill to produce the highest quality products.
The Heart of Woodright Design.
Quality isn’t extra here, it’s standard.
How We’re Different
Better materials. We use ¾” and ½” furniture-grade plywood for cabinet boxes and solid hardwood for doors and drawer fronts, not the thin particleboard you’ll find in mass-produced cabinets. Hardware is soft-close with quality hinges.
Stronger cabinet backs. We use ½” plywood set into a groove. The thicker, housed design keeps the box square and prevents sagging over time.
Built to fit your space. We size every cabinet to the exact dimensions of your project, so it fits flush under the countertop without filler pieces or gaps.
Hand-picked wood. Lumber comes from specialty suppliers (not big-box). We hand-select boards for grain and stability and ship from Oregon when the right stock isn’t local.
Furniture-grade doors. We precisely build every door from solid maple panels for lasting strength and a refined look.
Finishes that last. We use professional-grade catalyzed lacquer (like Chemcraft), about 95% solids, sprayed with a fine-mist HVLP gun for a smooth, even finish. Unlike latex paint, which dries soft and can chip or shrink, lacquer cures into a hard, durable surface built for years of use.
Tabletops you can eat off. We finish every dining and coffee table with a 100% plant-based, food-safe finish made in Sopchoppy, Florida. It leaves the wood silky smooth, protects against spills and rings, and brings out the natural depth of the grain.
Honest advice. We’ll tell you when refinishing will make it look new again, and when you’re better off replacing it.
